After the seed is planted, the care you give a new lawn during the first year is very important. Here are some tips:

• Water, Water, Water! Frequent watering until seed sprouts are important. Once they sprout, longer and deeper soakings are recommended after germination.
• When the grass is mowing height, go ahead and mow.
• Avoid weed controls and be sure the new lawn has a steady suply of fertilizer to speed up establishment.
